Admission Date:  In order to be considered for the first round of review, the Admissions Office should receive all application materials by February 1. Second round admission review occurs April 1. Rolling admissions occur after April 1st.

Entry for Academic Year: The decision about each child's placement is made by the school after review of all pertinent information concerning his/her learning style; academic, social, and emotional development; individual strengths and weaknesses; and school history. Input will be requested from all those who have worked or are currently working with your child. It is extremely important that you provide ALL pertinent information regarding your child. We understand that parents can be reticent in divulging information that may indicate learning challenges; however, in order to ensure that we can meet each child’s needs, it is imperative that all information is provided for accurate assessment. Withholding information may result in termination of your child’s position at a later date. Cunae International School reserves the right to exercise discretion on age entry criteria, and to exclude children whose behaviour or educational needs cannot be met by the school. Applications will be assessed upon receipt of all requisite documentation, and notification of outcome will be advised in writing.

Before pursuing admission you are encouraged to take a tour of our school and meet with the Director. If you are unable to tour the Director will conduct a skype interview/discussion.

Admissions Procedure

The admissions procedure is a three part procedure:

  1. Submission of Part A Application form, Educational Philosophy survey, letters of recommendation, most recent school reports and test results (translated into English), and a non refundable* registration fee. Applications submitted without the registration fee will not be considered.
  2. Student assessment and final consideration.
  3. If accepted into the programme, further submission of Part B application form and two months advanced tuition will be required. Payment schedules after that are monthly, but we can also accommodate term and yearly payments.

 *Note that the registration fee is non-refundable unless a student is not considered for the assessment phase

a note on age & grade correlations

Often we receive questions regarding a child’s age and what grade they should be going in, particularly if they are coming from the British system. Please note the following table to see how ages and grade levels correlate. It is simply a numeric system, not an indicator of level of work. Should you come into our school and return to a British system we will be happy to provide a letter highlighting the grade equivalency.
